Do you have an old computer or monitor that you are sick of looking at and have no idea what to do with? The Green Team has learned that Best Buy will take these computers and monitors off your hands and properly recycle them for 'no cost', or almost 'no cost'!
Here's how it works:

Reading on The Seventh Principle: Respect for the interdependent web of all existence of which we are a part.
In recent weeks, we've talked about the idea of becoming a “Green Sanctuary” at FUUSE with the purpose of confirming our commitment to each other in big and small ways to lessen our footprints on the planet. The FUUSE Green Team, also known as The Green Sanctuary Project, is proposing that we apply to the Unitarian Universalist Association for official Green Sanctuary status. This means that we, as a congregation, would work in small, medium and large groups on projects that practice our Seventh Principle — "our connectedness to the interdependent web of life of which we are a part" in our worship and celebration, in our religious education, in our work for environmental justice, and in our living more gently on the earth.
A forum will be held soon to gather ideas and questions about the details of the proposal coming up for vote in our Annual Meeting on May 23.

Did you know that more than 100 million trees worth of bulk mail is delivered to US mailboxes every year? In energy terms, the production and subsequent disposal of junk mail consumes more energy than 2.8 million vehicles annually.
Many of us do not want the majority of the solicitations and catalogs that come to our homes each day. If you are one of those people, go to www.DMAchoice.org and www.optoutprescreen.com to register online and stop this wasteful use of our natural resources. |
