We are in receipt of a letter from Saint Vincent de Paul Society of Exeter with whom we partner throughout the year in support of their food pantry for area citizens in need of assistance.
Signed by both the president and treasure of the Society, the letter offers their deep appreciation for the gifts of both money and food items during the past year, along with the following summary of their work:
"You may perhaps not know the extent of the work that we support. In the letter, reference is made to the broad scope of this much needed service to our community during the past year:
- 1,800 client family visits
- 130,000 pounds of food distributed
- 32 families received rent/mortgage assistance to avoid eviction.
- 22 families received utility/fuel assistance to avoid service termination.
- 44 families received auto repair, gas vouchers, medical & other assistance to meet emergency needs.
"Clearly the generosity of FUUSE, both with money (more than $1,000) and food, was instrumental in helping St. Vincent de Paul provide this support to those in need."
Please remember that we have requests from the food pantry for particular items each month of our church year. For the month of APRIL 2009, we are asked to bring contributions of canned chili, rice, and baked beans; and for MAY bring cold cereal, soup, and crackers. Thanks in advance for your continuing generosity. |
