We continue to work under the umbrella model, whereby small groups pursue a variety of interests: peace; affordable local housing; NH children's well-being, particularly in the court system; economic inequality as a national issue; and, especially, the injustice and inadequacy of current tax policy in New Hampshire.
The latter focus has led us to oppose Question 1 (the constitutional ban on any new state income tax ) on the November 2012 ballot and to look for opportunities to challenge the mythology that our broken tax system is somehow the "NH Advantage." It is really the NH Albatross, and if Question 1 passes, the albatross will get a lot heavier.
In the future we will be pursuing these or whatever other issues members of the committee strongly feel are important. |
