Introduction: Fundraising and solicitation are defined as raising money from others, offering goods or services for sale or resale, or collecting material goods for donation. The FUUSE Board of Trustees has the responsibility to set important fundraising and solicitation guidelines, approve proposals, set priorities, and determine policy.

Policy:

  1. All monies raised and material goods collected on church property or using church membership lists or addresses are done so under the auspices of the Board of Trustees.
  2. Established FUUSE Committee and FUUSE Task Force members may solicit individuals or groups for financial or material support of a FUUSE-related cause.
  3. Individual members of the FUUSE community or groups of individual members must have prior approval from the Board of Trustees to solicit any individuals or groups for financial or material support on church property or at church functions. Solicitation for non-FUUSE-related causes and charities may be allowed with such prior approval.
  4. A group from outside the FUUSE community may only solicit on church property or at church functions with the prior approval of the Board of Trustees.
  5. All requests for approval for the activities listed above must be submitted in writing to the Board of Trustees and include the solicitation objective, method, and timing.
  6. A FUUSE member wishing to rent space within the FUUSE facility for a fundraising and solicitation event may do so if those goals are in sympathy with UU principles. They will pay the member fee rate. See the Facilities Use Policy for details.
  7. All funds raised under this policy must be handled in accordance with the FUUSE Financial Operations Manual. Contact the Treasurer for details.
